At this stage, the most important thing is to foster a safe and trusting environment. They’ve only recently arrived in this world and are just beginning to know themselves. Coming to school is a volcano of emotions, and we love being part of it. We understand that this is a new and unknown space that may cause fear and, at the same time, is the most colorful and stimulating chapter of their lives.
That’s why we get down, stand by their side, offering them the most loving gaze we can, so that they feel safe to explore their new surroundings. At this stage—more than any other—we focus on creating a strong bond. This connection is the key for the child to feel safe and free to reveal their true essence, allowing us to reach important milestones together in both emotional and cognitive development.
Between ages 3 and 6, the brain is in a high-potential stage for learning, with great capacity for acquiring cognitive, linguistic, and social skills due to its plasticity and the maturing of key brain structures. Interaction with the environment, play, and appropriate stimulation are essential for promoting this development.
At this stage, it’s essential to nurture joy, movement, love, play, curiosity, and trust. Feeling included and free to be yourself, without judgment, has immeasurable benefits for children’s physical and mental health during this tender stage.
We work through care, respect for individual rhythms, loving attention, and anticipation, offering the calm that comes from always knowing what’s coming next.
Daily routine and a space to share feelings, sing songs, tell stories, and be together at the start of each new day.
When the assembly ends, the children can go explore environments of this stage, establishing emotional bonds and sharing learning experiences. There, they find all kinds of games and hands-on materials strategically arranged by learning areas.
The environments for this stage include: Art, Construction, Experimentation, Early Literacy, Math, Nature, and Symbolic Play.
The educators inform the children each time one of these spaces opens its doors to welcome them whenever they wish to go. These are fun spaces where they can participate, beginning to understand from a very young age the dynamics they will follow as they grow older, and starting to strengthen the wonderful power that is the power to choose.
Some workshops for this stage include: Dance, Cooking, Storytelling, Gardening, Introduction to letters, Introduction to numbers, Music, Psychomotricity, Yoga…
We conduct continuous evaluation of each child’s development. Our primary tool is the Platform, a custom-designed system to document the unique social, emotional, and cognitive growth of each student, as well as their progress through workshops, projects, and environments.
The data is stored and organized in detail, allowing us to know exactly where each child is in their learning journey. The platform also generates graphs showing each child’s learning progress in various subjects, helping us evaluate individuals, groups, cycles, and the school overall.
